AFL Sydney are pleased to announce the Round 6 Women's Rising Star is Makenzie Eddington from Southern Power.
Makenzie Eddington was an impressive debutant for the Southern Power in the middle of 2015 however injured her knee during her first game which ruled her out for the rest of the 2015 season. Fortunately for the Power Wolves, after a successful rehab Makenzie returned to football in 2016 where she has continued to develop her game in two outings to date.
While still learning the game and fine tuning her skills, Makenzie's strength has proven invaluable to the team and she brings a real energy and intensity to the team. Macca's rugby league background is clear to see thanks to her hard tackling across both the half back line and middle of the ground where she generally plays. Possessing a big kick, she has regularly been able to repel opposition forward attacks and clear the football out of the defensive 50.
Mackenzie has been among the Power Wolves best players in both of her games this year and the team is very excited about what the future holds for this talented youngster as she continues to learn the game and develop her skills and hopefully be a mainstay in the team for many years to come.
Congratulations Makenzie!
