AFL Sydney Round 7 Rising Star Nick Shipley (St George Dragons)

AFL Sydney is pleased to announce that the 2016 Round 7 Rising Star is Nick Shipley from the St George Dragons.

Nick is an under-age member of the very strong GWS U/18 Academy Squad having played his junior football with both Camden & Kellyville. A couple of impressive performances in the Rams selection trials saw Nick earn a call up to the Giants NEAFL side where he performed admirably in his 3 games to date this season. After an impressive debut in Premier League against Sydney University Nick looked like a seasoned veteran with his best on ground performance against UTS in Round 7 in only his 2^nd game. Able to play at both ends of the park Nick’s height, running ability and versatility gives Dragons coach Terry Mudge plenty of options and will no doubt see him push for Rams selection in 2017 and further representative honours into the future.
