1. Breese on top after bye
Despite Daniel Breese and the UTS Bats having a week off with the bye last weekend the dominant full forward is still leading the competition goal kicking with 19 goals against his name. Daniel has been impressive for the Bats this year and is one of the reasons for the success of the Bats so far in 2016. His nearest competition is impressive youngster Ben Zoppo from West Suburbs who is currently three goals behind Breese on 16 goals. With West Suburbs enjoying the bye this weekend how many goals can Breese kick clear? Can he be caught?
2. Manly Warringah off the mark as students look for form
Manly got off the mark for the season with an impressive victory over Sydney University. Sydney University started the season strong however in recent weeks have struggled. The side that started the year strongly have suffered from injury and NEAFL call-ups losing their last two matches. The students currently sit two wins outside a finals place and are desperately in need of an improved squad performance to turn their season around. This week they face one of the competitions in form clubs, St George, as Senior Coach Ben Merson prepares to face his former club. Can Uni cause an upset on the hallowed deck of Sydney University Oval 1?
3. Eagles and Dragons showed us a potential grand final matchup and it was incredible.
Last weekend we were spoilt as we enjoyed the competitions two of the three inform teams battling out in a top of the table clash. The Eagles took out match over St George by 5 points in an amazing finish. This match-up could well and truly happen on Grand Final day and by the looks of things early season if this does happen it will be a cracker of a game. UTS should not be forgotten in this equation as they face up against the Eagles this weekend. This clash should show where the top 3 stand and how their respective seasons are headed.
