AFL Sydney is pleased to announce that the 2016 Round 4 Rising Star is Ben Zoppo from the Western Suburbs Magpies.
Ben has risen from the successful under 19 team that won back to back titles in Wests won back to back in 2014 and 2015 to push for a spot in Wests premier division team.
Ben played representative football in the juniors before gaining a spot in the Sydney Swans Academy as an under 15 year old. After a number of seasons interrupted by injury, 2015 was Ben's first full season of senior footy.
Still only 18 years of age Ben has shown some glimpses of brilliance in the trial matches and Wests first game against Sydney Uni where he bagged 5 goals and a spot on the Sydney AFL team of week. However his finest performance so far happened in Round 4 when Ben kicked 4 Goals in the ANZAC Day clash against Pennant Hills.
