2014 Wrap Up

With 2015 nearly over, here is an overview of what has happened in 2014.

Manly Warringah claimed back to back premierships in Premier Division defeating Pennant Hills by 43 points on Grand Final day.
Balmain capturied the Division One flag after coming back into the division defeating UTS by 16 points.
Sydney University defended their Divisiopn Two premiership from 2013 by winning the 2014 flag defeating Blacktown by 39 points.
Randwick City claimed their first 1st grade premiership defeating Penrith by a whopping 127 points
Wollondilly fell one game short of a fairytale first year in the AFL Sydney competition after losing to UTS in the Division Four decider by 29 points.
After a quality first half of football, Blacktown claimed the Division Five flag over Penrith by 49 points.
After winning the minor premiership, St George went on to win the Under 19s Division One premiership by 47 points.
Western Suburbs completed a dominant season by winning the Under 19s Division Two Grand Final by 24 points.
Sydney University go through the season undefeated and claim back to back Women's Division One Premierships winning by 17 points over UNSW/ES Stingrays.
Southern Power also go through the year undefeated defeating Wollongong in the Grand Final by 10 points.
Pennant Hills Alex Goodall claimed the 2014 Phelan Medal polling 28 votes finishing ahead of Manly Warringah's Connor Pettersson and North Shore's Selby Lee-Steere
Harry Dobson from Sydney University is voted the AFL Sydney Rising Star winner while Catherine Stanton is voted the AFL Sydney Women's Rising Star.
Greg Corless from Penrith is awarded the AFL Sydney Volunteer of the Year.
AFL Sydney has a new Life Member with Ian Wright being inducted in while Russell Matheson and Geoffrey Green are inducted into the Hall of Fame.
AFL Sydney claim bragging rights over AFL Canberra with a 72 point victory at StarTrack Oval while the Under 23s side go down to a strong Black Diamond AFL side by 48 points at Newcastle.
For the first time, AFL Sydney have a Women's Rep side playing a two match series against AFL Canberra. AFL Sydney win the first game by 32 points down in Canberra, but AFL Canberra come back winning the second game by 3 points
