Laid Down Misere in Division Five

Ben Laid from Camden has claimed his second straight Division Five Apted Medal at the Phelan Medal Presentations awards last Monday night.

Laid polled 17 votes to finish two votes ahead of Blacktown’s Henry Button and Penrith’s Tayt Corless.

Laid was once again instrumental in Camden’s charge to the finals showing why he is the best player in the Division Five competition.

Laid started the season on fire polling five votes in the opening three rounds.

By halfway through the season, Laid had polled 14 votes from 9 games and looked set to be in contention for the medal again. Laid struggled to poll votes after the halfway mark of the season, only receiving three votes in the back half of the year however luckily for Laid, his closest competitors also failed to poll votes with Button (0 votes from Round 9) and Corless (2 votes from Round 9) failing to gain ground on Laid.

Laid is the first back to back man to win the Apted Medal and has now done it two years in a row.
