Pennant Hills have claimed the Under 18 Division One premiership in a thriller of a contest defeating UNSW/ES by 3 points at Blacktown.
In a match where momentum swings were regular, both teams had chances to seal victory but it was the Demons who kicked a goal with four minutes to go and held on to victory to win by 10.10 to 10.7.
The first quarter was all Pennant Hills kicking four goals to one to lead by 19 points at the first break.
UNSW/ES then turned the contest on its head kicking six goals to one in the second quarter to take the lead by 12 points at half time.
The start of the third quarter was all UNSW/ES racing out to a 25 point lead before the momentum changed with Pennant Hills kicking the next three goals to only trail by one point at the final change.
UNSW/ES kicked the first goal of the quarter to open their lead out to 7 points before Pennant Hills applied relentless forward pressure kicking three behinds before goal put them up by 2 points.
Pennant Hills then got the ball forward again scoring another behind and locking the ball in their forward 50. With around a minute to go UNSW/ES made one last forward thrust but to no luck with the Demons crowned premiers 2013.
Big key forward Daniel Preen won the best on ground medal with five goals with backmen Nicholas Hey and Theo Moraitis solid in the defensice fifty. For the Bulldogs, Full Forward Taylor Preece was dominant up forward kicking a bag of five with Abe Davis and Ben Gordan running hard all day.
